Carlos Trejo, AICP
City of Olivette
Carlos Trejo is the Director of Planning and Community Development for the City of Olivette. He has been with the City of Olivette since 2001, serving as the City’s first on-staff planner under the direction of the Public Works Department.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies in 1992 and dual Master s degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning in 1995. He has served in the capacity of a planning and zoning administrator in Muskego, WI from 1995 to 1998, and Creve Coeur, MO from 1998 to 2001. He earned his AICP certification in 1998.
Carlos now oversees the City’s planning and building inspections divisions in a newly formed Department of Planning and Community Development. The Department serves as steward to the Olivette Strategic Plan, advocating for land use policies and decisions consistent with the Plan’s goals and objectives.
Carlos is now working closely with Development Strategies as the City engages in public-private development opportunities along the Olive Boulevard corridor. This includes the proposed 14 acre mixed commercial redevelopment of the southwest corner of Olive Boulevard and I-170, and the 3-acre mixed use redevelopment of the Olivette’s former City Hall grounds.
